Track shipped equipment in Salesforce: location, shock and humidity
Yes, you can, natively. Wisechain Sentinel is a managed package that installs in your Salesforce org and records where every shipped unit is and what it went through on the way. A tracker fitted at the factory reports location by GPS, WiFi or cellular and logs shock, temperature, humidity and pressure. Each reading lands on the unit’s record in Salesforce, and a breach opens a Case for your quality team.
What you see in Salesforce
- Tracked assets: serial number, model and the tracker paired to it.
- Detections: every location and condition reading, time-stamped.
- Position clusters: where the unit stopped, and for how long.
- Points of interest: your factories, warehouses, ports and customer sites.
- Ownership registrations: the Account or Site the unit belongs to once it’s installed.
Your own flows act on these records. A shock above threshold opens a Case. A unit that settles at a new site proposes its owner and an Opportunity. The first stop at the final site starts the warranty.
How it works
- Pair a tracker to the serial number at the factory with the mobile app. It takes under 5 minutes.
- The tracker reports location and condition in transit and in storage.
- Data flows one way: device, Wisechain cloud, your Salesforce org. Read-only.
- At the destination, Sentinel matches the site to your accounts and registers the owner.
- Take the tracker off and reuse it on the next unit.
What you can prove
- Where each unit was delivered, for export control and sanctions checks.
- How it travelled, for warranty claims and carrier disputes.
- When it was installed, so warranty starts on the right day.
- Who owns it, so your service team calls the right company.
